  • Brooklyn-born and Harlem-based, vocalist, guitarist, and composer Allan Harris stands among the most compelling jazz artists of his generation. A three-time winner of the New York Nightlife Award for “Outstanding Jazz Vocalist,” Harris has also been named a Rising Star Jazz Vocalist by the DownBeat Critics Poll and “Jazz Vocalist of the Year” by Hot House Jazz Magazine in both 2015 and 2016. Internationally recognized, he earned France’s Palmarès Award for the third-best jazz vocal album of the year and was a finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition.
  • Bio (Rhonda): Oakland vocalist, composer, and arranger Rhonda Sauce is one of the Bay Area's most compelling jazz artists, blending deep roots in jazz with influences from soul, Brazilian music, and the Afro-diaspora. Praised by Kim Nalley for having "the special voice, firmly rooted in the jazz greats while still oozing her unique style," Rhonda has performed at SFJAZZ, Yoshi's, Freight & Salvage, the Fillmore Jazz Festival, and KCSM Jazz on the Hill. A Woodshed Network alumna under NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater, she is an accomplished songwriter and bandleader whose original music honors tradition while forging a distinctly modern voice.
  • The No Mercy Coalition Band is a high-energy funk and soul group performing around San Francisco and the East Bay, featuring saxophonist Mike Luzzi, Niecey Livingsingle (vocals), Gig Anderson (keyboards), Big Mike aka Leo (drums) who has over 30 years of local experience.
  • Destiny Muhammad is a Recording / Performing Artist | Band Leader | Composer & Producer.Her genre Celtic to Coltrane is cool and eclectic with a feel of Jazz & Storytelling to round out the sonic experience.
  • Thuy Linh (TL) is the first Vietnamese-American jazz vocalist, composer and producer based in San Jose, CA and the greater SF Bay Area. She has a Masters in International Relations, and was drawn to jazz in college by the iconic voices of the American Songbook - Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong. A self-taught vocalist, in November of 2013 TL founded Jazz is You! Jazz lá Em! - a project with the mission to bring jazz into the heart of the community. Her passion of jazz inspired her to deliver this great American Art Form into ethnic communities and increase its exposure in order to grown new and diverse audiences.
  • Cuban composer and pianist Omar Sosa is one of the most versatile jazz artists on the scene today. He fuses a wide range of jazz, world music, and electronic elements with his native Afro-Cuban roots to create a fresh and original urban sound – all with a Latin jazz heart.
  • Studio 91 spotlights pianist Eric Shifrin. Eric has been gigging in the San Francisco Bay Area since the early 90s both as a solo pianist and with his group, Eric & The In Crowd. Eric will feature music from the Great American Songbook and highlight some of the songs from his own catalogue. Listen in for some great playing and fun storytelling.
  • Guitarist Brenna Esmée Au Miller is a singer, songwriter and actor and former College of San Mateo student. This show will be hosted by KCSM intern Noah McDonough who also hosts the show Funky Friday at 9pm on HD2.
  • A Cowboy and A Samurai walk into a bar…it could happen! Bruce Forman and Akira Tana team up to explore the archetypes, and their relation to the jazz ethos. Expect thrilling improvisation and storytelling, and tons of fun!
  • Performing live in the KCSM Vinyl Library is vocalist Tiffany Austin with bassist Kevin Goldberg.
