Rhonda Sauce

Bio (Rhonda):

Oakland vocalist, composer, and arranger Rhonda Sauce is one of the Bay Area's most compelling jazz artists, blending deep roots in jazz with influences from soul, Brazilian music, and the Afro-diaspora. Praised by Kim Nalley for having "the special voice, firmly rooted in the jazz greats while still oozing her unique style," Rhonda has performed at SFJAZZ, Yoshi's, Freight & Salvage, the Fillmore Jazz Festival, and KCSM Jazz on the Hill. A Woodshed Network alumna under NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater, she is an accomplished songwriter and bandleader whose original music honors tradition while forging a distinctly modern voice.

Bio (Group):

Vocalist and composer Rhonda Sauce brings together jazz, Brazilian music, and R&B in a new suite of original songs. Honest and witty, she explores love, loss, and life's foibles with charm, grace, and humor. Anchored by pianist and organist Adam Klipple and joined by Scott Amendola on drums and Dan Feiszli on bass, the band delivers a sound that is funky, soulful, and swinging.
