Tim Price Quintet

Aired: 11/20/2025. Performing live in the KCSM record vault alto saxophonist, Tim Price will play Lennie Tristano melodies based on classic jazz standards comparing the melodies to the original "heads" and discussing the differences and what makes them extraordinary. Joining Tim Price will be veterans of the San Francisco Bay Area jazz scene, tenor saxophonist Tod Dickow, guitarist Bob Brumbeloe, bassist Jim Kerwin and drummer Curt Moore.

Tim Price
As a freelance woodwind and keyboard performer, composer, arranger, and conductor in the San Francisco Bay Area, Tim has performed with many artists including jazz musicians James Moody, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Gary Foster, Bill Yeager, Kim Richmond, Eddie Marshall, Dmitri Metheny and John Tchichai, as well as many pop artists, including Natalie Cole, Donna Summer, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Barry White, Johnny Mathis and Smokey Robinson.

Tod Dickow, Saxophone
San Francisco based saxophonist Tod Dickow performs in a wide variety of settings ranging from big bands to small combos adding a dynamic voice as an accomplished soloist and accompanist. As a frequent guest of the band Charged Particles, Tod has performed with Randy Brecker performing at many of the top Jazz venues in the world, such as Ronnie Scott’s, Birdland, Dimitrou’s Jazz Alley, Vibrato, Blues Alley, Dazzle Denver, Key’s Jazz Bistro The Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society and SF Jazz.

Bob Brumbeloe, Guitar
Bob has been performing locally and statewide for decades. In San Francisco during the mid-90s, he was a member of the jazz club Storyville’s house band, performing with such artists as James Moody, Harold Land, Ernie Watts, Charles McPherson, Bud Shank, and George Cables, among others. He’s also been privileged to work with cabaret and Broadway artists including Mary Wilson (of the Supremes), Melissa Errico, and Paula West.

Jim Kerwin, Bass
Playing in a wide variety of musical styles, Kerwin is equally at ease playing Rock, Jazz, Classical and Bluegrass. Among his many accomplishments, he's toured with the Larry Blackshere trio, mandolinist’s David Grisman Quintet, with whom he continues to play and has performed and recorded with a world of string artists such as Martin Taylor, Stephane Grappelli, Jerry Garcia and many others. 

Curt Moore, Drums
Curt has been playing drums for over 50 years, and has shared the stage and recording studio with a wide variety of artists spanning many musical styles. He has over 100 recordings to his credit. Some of the artists he has recorded and performed with include: Francisco Aguabella, Count Basie Orchestra, Chuck Berry, Ray Brown, Joyce Cooling, John Clayton, Richard Davis, Ian Dogole, Pete Escovedo, Bruce Forman, among others.
