Let’s explore the unique sounds of Dave Brubeck, Paul Desmond and the Dave Brubeck Quartet. With Desmond's cool, ethereal sound on the sax and Brubeck's block chords on piano, and their use of counterpoint and complex rhythms, they were among the most well-known musicians of the 1950s and '60s, introducing jazz to many through their appearances on college campuses.
