Chick Corea was one of the greatest acoustic piano trio performers in the history of jazz. Beginning with his 1968 Now He Sings, Now He Sobs, considered one of the all-time great piano trio albums, he made some 20 acoustic piano, bass and drum recordings over a 50 year span. He was very popular in Japan, and Japanese jazz fans have always just loved piano trios. So in 2006 and 2007 he made five piano trio recordings for release only in Japan. And so today we present Part 2 of Chick Corea: Tokyo Trios. With Chick in the company of top shelf bassists — Christian McBride, and John Patitucci — and top shelf drummers — Steve Gadd, Jeff Ballard, and Antonio Sanchez. Hope you can join us!
